The Dragon Realms

The Dragon Realms ( also known as the Dragon Kingdom ) is the current home of the dragons, who were banished from their original home, the Forgotten Worlds, by the Sorceress after she had a disagreement with a dragon elder. It is home to a diverse array of ecosystems, natural structures, and arcane oddities such as peaceful meadows, scorching deserts, eerie swamps, giant trees, and floating mountains.

Artisan Dragons

The Artisans are skilled creatives, bringing art and culture to the Dragon Kingdom through various crafts. Mutton is a favorite protein among the Artisans, which seems to cause conflicts with nearby shepherds concerned about the safety of their sheep herds.

The Artisan dragons exhibit bold color scales with a light underbelly, wide square-shaped snouts, and a pair of horns that curve backwards to a point. Fins grow from the sides of their head and jaw, resembling hair and a beard. A row of short, triangular spines run along the curve of their back. Blue scales seem to be common among Artisan dragons.

Peace Keeper Dragons

The Peace Keepers are skilled warriors who enforce order throughout the Dragon Kingdom and are in possession of a large weapons arsenal. However their effectiveness of protecting the kingdom from magic-wielding threats seems limited, especially if that magic is of the trap-everyone-in-crystal variety.

Peace Keeper dragons’ scales are fine and smooth, almost looking scaleless except for their underbelly. Their scales are often an earthy coloration similar to the desert environment they dwell in, though some dragons do display vibrant blues and purples. The scales of these dragons are often dotted with spots and speckles. Their horns curve backwards, with some ending in an upward point. Many have wide snouts similar to the Artisan dragons, but are slightly more rounder in shape. Some have tapered, slightly pointed snouts. Somewhat ear-like fins grow from the sides of their head. A row of triangular, backwards-curving spines run along the curve of their back, some are connected with a membrane.

Magic Crafter Dragons

Magic Crafters are reclusive, living at the peaks of the highest mountains where they research the arcane in peace...most of the time. They appear to have a contentious relationship with the local druids.

The Magic Crafters are generally much more paler in coloration compared to the other dragons. Their scales exhibit patterns resembling marble stone. Their horns curve backwards to a point, with some dragons displaying forked horns, almost resembling antlers. The irises of their eyes are large, almost completely obscuring the sclera. They have wide, square-shaped snouts similar to the Artisan dragons. Some have longer, slightly tapered snouts. These dragons exhibit fuzzy beards, some line the jaw, while others are more pointed and concentrated at the chin. Large triangular backwards-curving spines run along the curve of their back.

Beast Maker Dragons

The Beast Makers are most at home among nature, using the materials it provides to craft bizarre new creatures to populate the Dragon Kingdom. They have an aversion to technology, as misuse can cause harm to the ecosystems that the Beast Makers rely on.

Beast Makers are generally bulky dragons with thick, crocodilian-like scales displaying earthy, and occasionally vibrant tones. Their eyes are similar to a cat or crocodile’s, with vertical slit pupils. Their horns are large and curve backwards, often with a jagged, upward point. They have wide, rounded snouts similar to some Peace Keeper dragons. They have large fins growing from the sides of their head, with a smaller pair of fins growing out the sides of the base of the jaw. Long thin spines connected by a membrane, resembling fins, run along the curve of their back.

Dream Weaver Dragons

The Dream Weavers dwell high among the clouds, watching over the dreams of sleeping residents of the Dragon Kingdom, protecting their minds from any nightmares that intend to disturb their rest. They are tolerant of the absurd and unknowable, and have adapted to coexisting with some of the local troublemaking fools, even incorporating their bizarre nature into the functions of various architecture.

Dream Weavers are sleek, vibrant dragons with an intense stare. Their scales are round and pebble-like. They have large horns that curve backwards into an upward point. A smaller horn protrudes from the end of their nose into a curved upward point. They have a long snout with a round nose. Fins grow from the sides of their head, coming in various sizes. A small pointed beard grows at the end of their chin. A row of backwards curving spines connected with a membrane runs along the curve of their back, resembling stylized ocean waves.
