Goodbye, 2024

The Holidays are over, and the New Year arrives. Not much happened the past couple months, mostly just working on art things and holiday preparations.
I was gifted a sewing machine for Christmas this year. Gonna create some very grotesque plushie critters. I think I have some old fabric with a very 80s/90s print that would work great for an Abby plushie, but I gotta find it first.

Games

Video games recently played:
- [ PC ] Atlyss : MMO-like RPG with furries. Fun game. Very simple gameplay that makes for good "no think, only press buttons" time.

- [ PC ] Monster Hunter World : I played through most of this on Xbox years ago, got the PC version a little while ago but haven't played through much of it yet. Playing Atlyss reminded me of Monster Hunter so I started playing again.

- [ PC ] Minecraft [ Modded ] : Playing multiple modded installs, a Cobblemon modpack and Magic / Fantasy modpack. Don't really have any set goals, just training and collecting in the Cobblemon game and figuring out how the various magic mods work in the Magic game. Found a mod that allows the creation of custom player models and animations, so have been learning how to make models with it.



- [ PS2 ] Okage Shadow King : The cover art of this game has been haunting my brain for many years; I had seen it on a shelf at a DVD rental shop when I was a kid, but they never had a copy available whenever I was there. Came across it again while looking through a list of PS2 RPG games. Now finally I get to play it. It's a very silly game, fun art direction too!

Moving Pictures

Things that I have watched recently:
- [ Film ] Memoir of a Snail : A very good stop-motion animation film. I enjoy the films of Adam Elliot and his studio.

- [ Film / TV ] Will Vinton Claymation Films : Something about the Holidays makes me want to watch stop-motion animations, maybe because of The Nightmare before Christmas. Will Vinton's claymation films have such a wonderful cartoony motion, and many of the character designs have such fun shapes.

The New Year Approaches

2025 might be a slow art year, at least for sharing. I want to focus more on the Teratoma comic and learn more [ 3D animation. ] Gonna try figure out what to do with the Patreon, haven't updated it in awhile. Changes were made to the post editor that made posting updates to Patreon very difficult for me, I'll check later to see if it has been improved.
Need to get prints ready for the shop reopening in January. Commissions will be getting a price increase when they reopen in January, mainly the 2D commissions, I think 3D will stay at starting price of $50, will just adjust how I price more complex 3D commissions.

Started work on a 3D lowpoly model of a character I created [ doodles of a while ago. ]



I wanted to create something different from the usual but later realized the character's design is just a turquoise [ Scab ] but with digitigrade legs and gecko / chameleon-based rather than scorpion. Whatever. Also, I still need to name them.

I'm tired.
