Halloween

Autumn time is my favorite time of the year, I enjoy the cooler weather and colorful foliage of the trees as they prepare for winter.
I tried the pumpkin and apple pie recipe I mentioned in the previous blog post, it turned out pretty good! Didn't use enough sugar though, but whipped cream fixes that.

Favorite artwork completed in October is this [ aliens painting. ]

Reading

Things I have read recently:
I haven't done much reading in October. I did start reading the Scary Godmother book mention in the last blog post, but haven't finished it yet.

Games

Video games recently played:
- [ PC ] STRAFTAT : A 1v1 PvP FPS game with quick matches, it's very fun! The models for the humanoid characters are so goofy and adorable, I would like to create a painting of them some day.

- [ PC ] Zortch : An FPS game that reminds me of the first Unreal game. I have played through the first level so far, I am enjoying it.

- [ PC ] VRChat : Started playing this as I was curious about the worlds being built for this. Visited various Halloween and horror-themed worlds with my bro, and explored some worlds on my own as well.




- [ PC ] Webfishing : I was going to get started on my Costume Quest playthrough but then this showed up, rip. Anyways, a very fun and relaxing game. The game is still very new and already has a thriving modding scene. I have even [ created some mods of my own. ] It has been a fun way to learn how to use the Godot engine.



- [ PC ] Garage: Bad Dream Adventure : I adore surreal, organic-looking machine designs, which was how this game caught my attention. Very interesting game with some concerning themes and allusions in the storytelling. In the game you explore a world created by a machine called Garage from the subconscious of the protagonist, who is searching for his sneakers. Also there is a fishing minigame. You catch various crustaceans and frogs rather than fish, and they have some very bizarre designs. There is a frog that is literally just a penis. This is very much a game that explores sexism and is rather blunt about it in regards to the visuals. Fun game, though can be a bit depressing due to it’s exploration of not-so-pleasant themes.



- [ GC ] Animal Crossing : Started a new game because Webfishing. Despite how simple and sometimes obnoxious the Gamecube version is, it still remains my favorite game in the series.

Things that I have watched recently:
- [ TV ] Dragula - Season 6 : More Dragula, yay!

- [ TV ] What We Do in the Shadows - Season 6 : More funny vampire show, yay! The last season, too. It's okay, hasn't caught my interest as much as previous seasons yet though.

I recently started learning Toki Pona, a constructed language (conlang.) I am following video tutorials and other online resources while I wait for the books to arrive in the mail. I am enjoying learning about this language. Other than that I don't have much to share this time. October was busy but uneventful.
